GAME NOTES
- The Anteaters recorded a team-best 68 kills and 107 digs in the five-set effort against Cal State Fullerton.
- UCI has posted 20 or more block assists five times this year with a season-high 24 against UC Santa Barbara.
- UCI has also recorded at least one ace in five straight matches. Shannon Fleming leads the team with 15 and is 10th in the Big West with a .26 ace average.
- Aly Squires totaled season-highs of 23 kills and 19 digs against the Titans.
- It is the fourth time Squires has posted 20 or more digs this season and it was also her seventh double-double (kills/digs)match of the year.
- Marissa Alvarez handed out a career-high 62 assists in the effort against CSF.
- The setter also had a pair of double-doubles (assists/digs) with 13 digs against both the Titans and UC Riverside. ]
- Hannah Nabbout recorded a career-high, picking up 18 digs against the Titans.
- Kristin Winkler just missed her second 30-dig match with 29 scoops against CSF. Winkler had 51 digs in two matches and continues to near the 2000 mark with 1,969 career digs.
- Molly Yoder tied a season-best with 12 digs against the Titans.
ALL ABOUT THE AZTECS
- San Diego State is 11-7 overall and 2-4 on the road.
- The Aztecs are led by Summer Nash, who has 216 kills on the year and is averaging 3.04 per set.
- SDSU is averaging 2.51 blocks per set with Emily Harris topping the team with 92 total blocks and a 1.26 average.
- The Aztecs also have fired 90 aces with Johnna Fouch with a team-leading 18.
- SDSU owns a 13-5 series lead against UCI. The two teams last met in 2011 with UCI falling 3-1.
49ER FODDER
- Long Beach State is 10-9 overall and sits second in the Big West at 5-3.
- The 49ers are led by Delainey Aigner-Swesey, who has 195 kills and a 2.87 average.
- Three LBSU players are averaging at least two kills per set and the team is second in the Big West with a 13.53 average.
- Chisom Okpala leads the team in blocks with 75 and a 1.10 average.
- In action last week, LBSU handled UC Riverside, 3-1 and fell to Cal State Fullerton in four sets.
- Long Beach State is 62-8 against UCI and has won the last four match-ups.
OFF THE BLOCK
UCI alumna, Whitney Pavlik (2004-05) and Nebraska graduate, Jenny Kropp, were named the Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball National Champions after winning the Huntington Beach Open in September.
