IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine senior driver Trent Baxter (Fresno/Clovis West HS) has been named the KAP7 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week.
Baxter scored a career-high six goals in a 13-12, MPSF win over Long Beach State last Thursday night. He scored his last goal of the evening with 7:31 remaining in the fourth quarter to give the 'Eaters a 12-9 cushion in the "Black & Blue" Rivalry clash with the 49ers.
Baxter, who added a goal in a loss to No. 4 Stanford Sunday, has 44 goals on the season and ranks ninth in the MPSF with an average of 1.83 goals per game.
He is UCI's second Player of the Week selection this season as Mitch Wise was honored Sept. 12.
The 'Eaters host UC San Diego in a non-conference game Wednesday night at 7:00 in the season's home finale. UCI travels to UC Santa Barbara Saturday for an MPSF contest at 12:00 p.m.
Baxter, along with fellow seniors Sam Figueroa, Derrik Jarvis and Max Parrague, will be recognized prior to the start of Wednesday night's game.
