UC Irvine's Squires Earns All-Big West Honorable Mention Accolades

IRVINE, Calif. --- Aly Squires (Santa Ynez/Santa Ynez Valley Union HS) was voted a 2011 All-Big West honorable mention, as announced by the conference office today.
Squires led UCI in kills with 355 while averaging 3.41 per set to sit seventh in the Big West. Squires is also second on the team in digs with 329 and third blocks with 67. She posted double-digit kills in 20 matches this year with a career-high of 26 against Portland State. She has had 14 double-double matches (kills/digs) and picked up a career-high 24 digs against Cal State Fullerton.
This is the first honor on the All-Big West Team for the sophomore outside hitter, who recently moved to No. 8 in the UCI season records in attack attempts with 1,245.
