Anteaters Close Out Season Against Central Michigan

ANTEATERS TAKE ON CHIPPEWAS: UC Irvine (10-18 overall) caps the season with a non-conference match against Central Michigan (18-12) this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Crawford Court.
SENIOR NIGHT: UCI will honor its seniors, Alexandra Hauser (Chino Hills/Ayala HS), Alexandra Bubica (San Pedro/HS), Pauline Acres (Manhattan Beach/New Hampshire) and Lauren Allen (Redondo Beach/Concordia) in a ceremony prior to first serve Saturday.
FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT: Saturday's game against Central Michigan will be a non-ticketed event and attendance will be free for all spectators.
WINKLER TAKES SECOND IN SEASON RECORDS: Junior libero Kristin Winkler (Los Altos/St. Francis HS) moved to No. 2 in the UCI single-season records after picking up 39 digs in two matches last week. Winkler now has amassed 555 digs, passing Anteater alumna, Devon Sutherland, who had 553 digs in 2007. Winkler owns three spots in the single-season top six.
FLEMING REACHED 100-BLOCK MARK: Shannon Fleming (Saratoga/Archbishop HS) put up seven block assists in two matches last week to reach 100 block assists in a single-season. The sophomore is tied for seventh with Hauser, who posted 100 in 2009. Sitting in sixth is former Anteater, Kristin Kelley, who put up 107 blocks in 2006.
TEAM NOTES
The Anteaters will look to snap a four-match losing streak this Saturday.
UCI's match against Central Michigan will be the first between the two teams.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
Last weekend, Aly Squires led UCI with 21 kills to go with 31 digs and six blocks.
o Seventh in the Big West in kill average
o Totaled 21 digs against the Titans for her fourth 20+dig match
o Eighth in the UCI records with 1,245 assists in a season
Marissa Alvarez had 45 assists for UCI last week.
o Season-high 34 assists against CS Fullerton
o Is averaging 4.63 assists per set
o Also had nine scoops against Titans for her second-highest dig out-put this season
Kristin Winkler has totaled double-figure digs in all but two matches this year.
o Has recorded 20 or more digs in 14 matches
o Ranked second in the Big West in dig average at 5.19
o Second on the team with 23 aces
Shaina Olsen totaled 21 kills, 13 digs and four blocks for the 'Eaters.
o Five double-double matches in 2011
o Has at least one block assists in six straight matches
o Second on the team in kills with 230 and a 2.58 average
Mary Carls totaled 26 assists and five digs last week.
o Leads the team with 735 assists and a 7.28 average
o Ranked eighth in the conference in assist average
Arielle Manz led the team with eight blocks.
o Posted four blocks against Fullerton
o Had two solo stuffs against the 49ers
o Second on the team with seven solo blocks
Shannon Fleming added seven blocks in two games last week.
o Reached 100 block assists this season
o Had nine kills and hit .304 against Fullerton.
o Committed just one error against LBSU, putting away four of 10 attempts
Alexandra Hauser hit .444 against the Titans, converting five one nine attempts with one error.
o Second in the Big West in aces at 0.34
