Nisma Ali enters her second year as the UC Irvine women's basketball program's Director of Administration in 2023-24.
Ali is no stranger to UCI Athletics as she has spent the last nine seasons as the statistician for the Anteater men’s and women’s basketball programs. Her duties with the 'Eaters included pre-game statistics preparation, recording live stats during the game, and preparing post-game books for officials, coaches, and media. In addition, Ali served three years as a statistician for the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers.
Prior to her stint with the Anteaters, Ali was the managing director at a wealth management accounting firm in Irvine from 2014-22. Her responsibilities included managing bank reconciliations, analysis of financials, and preparing budgets for high-net-worth clients. She also created and maintained cash flow analysis, balance sheets, and income statements worth over $300 million. Ali provided quantitative information on financial position while ensuring compliance with all tax regulations.
Ali was also previously a junior varsity coach at Santa Margarita Catholic High School and assisted the varsity head coach, Matthew Houser, in 2015 when the Eagles won a CIF title. In addition, Ali recruited players and created the first Freshman Girls’ Basketball team at the school.
Ali played at Orange Coast College and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in business administration from Cal State Fullerton and her master's in business administration from Pepperdine.
