Biography
2017 (Senior)
• Competed primarily in the 400m
• Placed 11th overall at the Big West Championships with a personal-best 57.55
• Finished third at the season-opening All-UC Challenge
• Added top-10 showings at the Mondo Team Challenge and Big West Challenge
• Member of UCI’s 4x400 relay that ran a school-record 3:42.57 at the conference meet (4th)
• Named to the Big West Spring All-Academic Team for the third year in a row
2016 (Junior)
• Notched a season-best 26.40 in the 200m at the Steve Scott Invitational
• Ran a 400m season-best 59.41 at both the Big West Challenge and UC Irvine Spring Break Invitational
• Part of the 4x400 relay that took third at the Anteater Four-Way Meet (3:52.73)
• Earned Big West All-Academic recognition
2015 (Sophomore)
• Established two season-bests at the Big West Challenge, running 59.60 in the 400m and 3:50.65 in the 4x400 relay
• Registered her top 200m time of the year at the Anteater 4-Way Meet (26.44)
• Recieved all-academic honors from the conference and was tabbed a Big West Scholar-Athlete
2014 (Freshman)
• Big West Championship qualifier in the 400m and 4x400 relay
• Established a personal-record 25.76 in the 200m at the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational
• Finished fourth in the 400m at the UC Irvine Spring Break Invitational with a then lifetime-best 57.65
High School
• Graduated from Beckman High School in 2013
• Lettered four years in track & field and two in soccer
• Voted her team's Most Outstanding Sprinter as a senior
• Left as the school-record holder in the 400m, 4x400 relay, and sprint medley relay
• Earned the captain's and coach's award in in soccer (2010-11)
• Team advanced to the CIF playoffs
• Received Scholar-Athlete distinction and was named to the Principal's Exemplary Honor Roll all four years
• Founder and President of the Hope Club

• Majoring in earth system sciences with a minor in global sustainability
• Member of the Link Cru, Pink Ribbon Club, and Helping Hand
• Parents are Adeela and Asim Syed
• Has three siblings, Umayr, Bilal, and Nadia
