Tyler Pham, a UC Irvine men's tennis alum, begins his seventh year as an assistant coach at his alma mater in 2022-23.
Since Pham joined the coaching staff, the Anteaters are 72-51 in dual-match play. During that stretch, they have earned 12 All-Big West singles honors, while 12 doubles teams have also received all-conference recognition.

In 2022, Pham helped lead UCI to one of its best campaigns in recent years. The ‘Eaters claimed the Big West Tournament title and made their first NCAA appearance in 11 years, while finishing the campaign ranked 67th in the nation. UC Irvine went 17-7 overall, marking the program’s most victories since 2016 and best win percentage since 1999. Â
Pham concluded his stellar four-year collegiate career in 2016. He etched his name in the Anteater record books where he ranks 19th in singles wins (56) and 23rd in doubles victories (45).
Pham was a six-time All-Big West selection at UCI. He garnered first-team all-conference honors in singles as a freshman, while he also received second-team and honorable mention recognition as a sophomore and senior, respectively. In doubles, Pham was a two-time second-team selection, and earned honorable mention status in his final campaign.
In 2017, Pham teamed up with Mason Hansen to advance to the consolation championship of the Pacific Coast Doubles Tournament in La Jolla. The duo dropped their match in the Round of 128, but responded with four-straight wins in the back draw.
Pham graduated in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in social policy and public service. He prepped at Rancho Bernardo High School where he was an All-American and two-time CIF champion.
