Younger brother plays baseball, and younger sister plays volleyball
Father, Ira, played baseball at University of Maryland-Eastern Shore and was first collegiate player to win two and two consecutive NCAA Batting titles in 1989 (.488) and 1990 (.519 - sixth-highest in NCAA history) - hit .431 over his career (14th in Division I history)
Father was also a 37th round draft pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1990 and hit .292 over a 14-year career in the minors and independent ball
Majoring in education
Chose UC Irvine because I love the campus and location. The coaching staff is also top of the line and I couldn't see myself playing for anybody else
Wore #9 because it was his dad's number, recently wore his favorite number, #1, throughout high school
