Burns joined the UCI athletic training staff in November of 2002.

While his primary sport at UCI is Men’s basketball, Burns has also worked with the women’s soccer, women’s water polo, men’s soccer, men’s volleyball, track and field and the men’s and women’s golf program.

In 1995, Burns earned his bachelor’s degree from California State University Northridge in Physical education with an emphasis in Athletic training. He went on to earn his Master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Athletic Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.

Burns has been National Athletic Trainers’ Association certified since 1996.

Burns resides in Oceanside with his wife Roxanna and his 3 sons, Edward, Jack and Kamran.
