Summary: The UC Irvine Athletics Graphic Design Intern will assist in the design and creation of digital and print assets for UC Irvine’s 18 Division 1 athletic programs.
Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)

Create original designs in line with the UC Irvine Athletics digital style guide.

Assist in the design and production of graphics for social media, website, email marketing, digital advertising, print materials, in-venue displays, and events.

Collaborate with athletics staff to ensure consistent visual storytelling.

Receive feedback from the Creative Team and make necessary changes.

Participate in brainstorming and creative planning sessions.

Stay updated on industry trends, sports design aesthetics, and digital media innovations.

Assist with game day creative needs, as assigned.

Help maintain storage of all creative assets.

Collaborate with coaches, student-athletes, and other staff.

Commit up to 19.5 hours of work per week.
Desired Skills/Qualifications

A portfolio of self-created graphic design work.

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first attitude.

Passion for sports and enthusiasm for creative storytelling.

Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and gamedays as needed.

Be willing to accept or be open to feedback and critique related to design projects.

Desire to pursue a career in the field of sports media.
Beneficial, but not required

Understanding of social media atmosphere for any college sports (baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc.)

Prior experience in social media management of any kind for a sports team or organization.

Experience in athletics, either as a player or for work.
Experience using Sprout Social for social media management and posting.

Experience using Photo Shelter for delivery/receiving of digital assets.
-
Experience with Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Planner, etc.)

Knowledge of Adobe After Effects or any other animation software.
Benefits/Compensation

$17 per hour
