Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Leadership Council

The student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes' lives on NCAA member institution campuses. Each UCI team elects two representatives to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. This Committee meets three times a quarter with the Assistant Athletic Director –Academics & Student Services, Dedra Butler and other representatives from the Athletics Department (Senior Management, Compliance, Faculty and Campus Staff, etc…) to discuss matters that are relevant to the student-athletes overall experience on and of campus. The Committee also acts as a liaison between student-athletes and the Associated Student Body (ASUCI). In addition, student-athletes have the opportunity to gain leadership experience while serving on various subcommittees which including outreach, faculty/staff relations, social event planning and more.  If you are interested in learning more about the national SAAC organization, then please visit the following link for the NCAA SAAC website and/or contact the UCI SAAC Advisor, Mari Yacoubian via email for more information regarding the UCI SAAC leadership group.
