First Half Paces 84-66 Win for Men's Basketball

NEW TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan – UC Irvine men's basketball improved to 2-0 at the 2026 William Jones Cup with an 84-66 win against Jordan Saturday.
UCI got scoring contributions from a number of 'Eaters as seven players posted seven or more points and three in double figures led by Jovan Jester Jr. with a game-high 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field.

>Also in double figures was Harrison Carrington, for a second game in a row, recording 12, and Josiah Johnson making his first appearance of the tournament registered 11 points
>Tama Isaac again was the game's assist leader dishing out eight, and he scored six of his nine points from the free throw line
>Nils Cooper also made his tournament debut scoring four points and his five rebounds tied him for the team high
>Nes Emeneke also grabbed five rebounds along with his seven points and a game-high two blocks

For a second straight game, the opponents got off to the strong start with Jordan building a 10-3 lead in the first five minutes. UCI countered with an 11-0 run and finishing out with a 19-4 run to end the quarter on top, 22-14.
The Anteaters had their best quarter heading into the half with Jovan Jester Jr. netting eight points, Harrison Carrington adding seven, and Luke Isaak draining two threes for a 49-29 advantage at halftime.
UCI spread the wealth around in the third quarter with four different scorers and Josiah Johnson carrying the bulk of the scoring with seven points. Jordan climbed back into it eating into the deficit to make it 64-51 'Eaters entering the final quarter.
Jester Jr. helped close the win out with the best scoring quarter for any Anteater on the day in the fourth with nine to complete the 84-66 win.
