WALNUT, Calif. - UC Irvine women's track & field broke two more school records Friday at the Mt. SAC Relays.

Aoife Hernon started the day by topping her own 400m record at 53.88. Hernon is the first Anteater to run a sub-54 second time.

Hernon came back later in the afternoon to join forces with
Ihe Okoh,
Catalina Teran, and
Esmeray Demirbas to claim runner-up honors in the 4x400 relay with a program-best 3:39.01. It is the second time this season the 'Eaters have broken the 4x400 school record as Hernon, Teran, Demirbas, and
Mikah Longcob set the previous standard of 3:40.83 at the Ben Brown Invitational on March 13.

One day after establishing a school-record 11.43 in the 100m at the Pacific Coast Invitational,
Samantha Bartz was right back in action, finishing third out of 41 (11.63). Teran also competed in the 200m (24.27).

AZUSA, Calif. - UC Irvine's distance runners set seven personal records at the Bryan Clay Invitational Friday at Cougar Athletic Stadium.

In the 800m,
Emma Hadley bettered her No. 6 time in program history with a lifetime-best 2:07.65.
Kaia Schmidt (2:09.26) and
Makena Castillo (2:11.73) were both less than five-tenths of a second shy of their respective PRs.
Arden Keeton (2:13.27) and
Kaitlene Ofilan (2:14.36) added personal bests..

Cynthia Herrera had the Anteaters' top 5000m time of the meet, running a personal-record 17:08.07.
Grace Baxter (17:25.45),
Anna Soares (17:29.34), and
Jackie Pan (17:38.43) also clocked lifetime bests.

LONG BEACH, Calif. - UC Irvine kicked off the Beach Invitational with three field events Friday at Jack Rose Track.

Kaylee Tan tied for fourth in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.47 meters (11-4.5).

Giselle Rodriguez finished sixth in the javelin (46.51m/152-7).

Elisabeth Driscoll notched a personal-record 46.87m (153-9) in the hammer throw.
