UCI Finishes Action at Wyoming Cowboy Classic

MARICOPA, Ariz. - The UC Irvine men's golf team wrapped up action at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic Wednesday at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.
The Anteaters finished 24th with a 5-count-4 total of 893 (289-303-301).
No. 38 USC (838) took home the team title, finishing one stroke ahead of 46th-ranked Arkansas State. The Red Wolves' Thomas Schmidt was the individual champion at 13-under 203.
Owen Davis-Piger had UCI's best third-round score to climb 17 spots in the standings. Davis-Piger tied for 81st with a total of 223 (73-77-73). Rei Harashima (75-75-74) and Tommy Lin (73-77-74) were one stroke back in a tie for 84th.
Jack Yu started the tournament strong, carding an opening-round 69 (-3) on Tuesday. Yu was unable to keep the momentum going as he finished with a 54-hole score of 229. Jason Tang rounded out UC Irvine's lineup with a 231 (74-74-83).
The 'Eaters will be idle next week before returning to action at the Western Intercollegiate in Santa Cruz, April 13-15.
