Jurian Dixon Tabbed Big West Player Of The Week

IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine guard Jurian Dixon was named Big West Player of the Week after leading the Anteaters to a Big West regular season title and No. 1 seed with wins over Cal Poly and UC Davis.

The redshirt sophomore averaged 22.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists over two home wins to earn his second Big West weekly award of the season.

He started the week pouring in 22 points on 8-16 shooting from the floor, including two three-pointers, and 4-4 from the line against Cal Poly. He had six rebounds, five assists and a steal versus the Mustangs.Dixon fueled the second half comeback against UC Davis with 12 of his game-high 23 points in the final 20 minutes. He once again drained 8-16 from the floor, including a three-pointer, while hitting 6-7 from the free throw line. The guard led the Anteaters with career-high eight rebounds.

He has recorded 20 or more points seven times this season, including back-to-back games last week.

UC Irvine finished the regular season with a 22-10 overall record and captured The Big West regular-season crown with a 15-5 mark. Dixon is averaging 15.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists heading into the postseason.

UCI, who earned the regular season title for the 10th time in program history and third time in the last four years, will begin the 2026 Credit Union 1 Big West Men's Basketball Championship Friday (Mar. 13) at 6:00 p.m.  at the Lee's Family Forum in Henderson, Nev.
