Logan Lyght highlighted Saturday's action for the UC Irvine men's track & field team at the Beach Opener.

Lyght, who was making his Anteater debut, won the 110m hurdles in a wind-legal lifetime-best 13.96 seconds. His time ranks fifth in school history. Lyght added a top-10 showing in the 200m (21.32). Senior
AJ Taylor also took third in the 110H (14.57).

Sophomore
Justin Johnson ran a wind-aided personal-record 10.42 to place third in the 100m, while senior
Brandon Burns (10.73) was 10th in a field of 36 sprinters.

Johnson,
Brendan Clark, Burns, and
Roman Mendoza combined for a time of 3:14.21 to come in fifth in the 4x400 relay.

Joe Duggan led the way in fourth with a toss of 16.80 meters (55-1.5). SeniorÂ
Chimobi Onye (16.54m/54-3.25) wasn't far behind in fifth, while senior
Jake Troxell (16.25m/53-3.75) was seventh.

Duggan was also UCI's top finisher in the discus, taking sixth out of 31 (51.68m/169-6).

UC Irvine is back in action next weekend at the Ben Brown Invitational in Fullerton, March 12-13.
