IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine women's tennis continued competition at the UCI Fall Invitational, facing UC Riverside in hidden dual competition. The Anteaters competed in singles and doubles action against the Highlanders, earning two singles victories and one doubles win.
In singles competition, Lindsay Kim opened with a straight-set victory over Kaylin Kielty, 6-3, 6-2. Rachel Gee also earned a straight-set win, defeating Camile Li, 7-5, 6-1. UCR claimed three singles victories, with Susannah Su defeating Mackenzie Lukin, 6-2, 6-4, and Crystal Kim topping Quin Brady, 6-4, 6-0. Gaby Pimentel secured a three-set victory over Sayuri Parandian, 6-4, 4-6, 10-8.
In doubles action, Sayuri Parandian and Mackenzie Lukin earned a 6-2 victory over UCR's Mazzero and Dafne Andres. The Highlanders claimed the remaining two doubles matches, with Stancheva and Stephen defeating Quin Brady and Rachel Gee, 6-3, and Crystal Kim and Karam topping Lindsay Kim and Clovis College's Olivia Perez, 6-0.
The UCI Fall Invitational features a hidden dual format, with participating teams facing different opponents in singles and doubles throughout the three-day tournament. Competition continues through Saturday, Oct. 31, with matches resuming following UCI's kids tennis clinic.
