Jurian Dixon Named Big West Player Of The Week

IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine guard Jurian Dixon was named Big West Player of the Week after helping the Anteaters to a 2-0 week on the road.

The redshirt sophomore started the week pouring in a career-high 26 points in a win over CSU Bakersfield, shooting 8-13 from the floor, including an incredible 6-7 from three-point range. His career-best 6 threes are tied for fourth most by a Big West player this season and are the most for an Anteater player since 2023 when DJ Davis had six versus Hawaii. He also added with two assists and two rebounds against the Roadrunners.

In a win at Cal State Fullerton, Dixon went 7-12 shooting from the field and 4-7 from long range for 15 points. He added three assists, two rebounds and two steals.

For the week, Dixon averaged 20.5 points, shooting .542 (13-24) from the floor and 10-14 (.714) from three, while averaging 2.5 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 steal per game.

Dixon is currently sixth in the Big West in scoring with a 15.9 mark and is second with a .440 three-point field goal percentage.

It is the second consecutive week an Anteater player has garnered the award with forward Kyle Evans earning the distinction a week ago.
