IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine used a balanced offensive attack to sweep Fresno State, 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-15) at the Anteater Classic at the Bren Events Center Friday night.

Opposite Lois Hansen and outside hitter Kendra Duffey led the Anteaters with 12 kills each. Hansen couldn't be stopped, hitting .611 (12-1-18) with three block assists. Duffey had two solo blocks in the win.

The Anteaters improved to 3-1, while Fresno State drops to 2-3.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
>Setter Nicole Feliciano guided UCI to a .295 hitting percentage with her first double-double of the season. She posted 29 set assists and 10 digs to go with an ace and block assist.
>Outside hitter Kendra MacDonald added eight kills, three aces and nine digs
>Middle blocker Elizabeth Miller added five kills, while fellow middle Ally Bolden recorded three kills and a team-high four block assists
>Libero Campbell Jensen had a match-high 16 digs to go with two aces
>Fresno State was led by Addison Haluska's 10 kills and 11 digs
>UCI out-blocked the Bulldogs, 6-2 and held an 8-5 advantage in aces

FIRST SET
>Kendra MacDonald had a kill then stepped back to t the service line and had an ace which was followed by kills from Kendra Duffey and Elizabeth Miller to put UCI up 15-13
>Fresno state took advantage of a service error and added a kill and ace to move in front 19-18
>The Bulldogs would fire another ace to take a 21-19 lead and force a UCI timeout
>Out if the time out UCI came alive on back-to back kills by Miller and Lois Hansen and an ace by Nicole Feliciano, 22-21
>Following a Fresno State timeout, two more Bulldog errors gave UCI set point, 24-21
>A FSU kill delayed the set which UCI won on a Bulldog attack error, 25-17

SECOND SET
>The Anteaters jumped out to a 7-2 lead, scoring five straight points which included two kills from Kendra Duffey and one by Miller and Hansen
>UCI remained in control with a MacDonald kill putting UCI in front 20-16
>Fresno State would go on a 6-1 run, including a block, to take a 22-21 lead
>A kill by Hansen stopped the momentum and a solo block by Duffey knotted the score at 23-22
>An ace gave Fresno State set point only to watch the Anteaters use a service error, block by Hansen and Ally Bolden and an ace by Lillian Lansing to capture the win, 26-24

THIRD SET
>Fresno State jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead
>Two kills by Hansen and an ace Campbell Jensen followed to tie the set at 3s
>With Feliciano at the service line, UCI capitalized on kills by MacDonald and Hansen and a Bulldog attack error, 12-10
>A 5-0 run with two MacDonald aces moved the Anteaters out to a 17-11 lead
>A block by Bolden and Hansen, an ace by Jensen and a kill by Hansen increased the lead, 21-12
>Kills by Duffey and Bolden gave UCI match point, 24-15. An Anteater service error was followed by a Fresno State attack error to end the match, 25-15

NOTES
>UCI has out-blocked every opponent this season
>Freshman Lillian Lansing recorded two aces and increased her team lead to seven
