RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The 'Eaters went undefeated at the Lancer Joust with a 16-7 victory over Biola in Riverside.
UC Irvine took a commanding lead in the first period and never looked back, allowing just one goal while netting five of their own. The Eagles fought back, finding the back of the net three times in the second frame, but the 'Eaters matched their total from the first period to take a 10-4 lead at the half. UCI kept their foot on the gas, scoring six goals in the second half while allowing just three, to clinch the 16-7 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED: The 'Eaters took a quick 4-0 lead, kicked off with a power play goal from Cole Francisco and a tally from Luka Krstic. Francisco netted another before Wyley Dale found the back of the net at the 2:17 mark. The Eagles got one back before Jayson Hubbard scored the final goal of the period to extend the lead, 5-1.
The Eagles found the back of the net first before
Ben Atkinson scored at the 7:13 mark to maintain the Anteater lead, 6-2.
Dylan Rosmann recorded back-to-back goals before Biola got one back on the power play to make it 8-3 at the 4:58 mark.
Andrew Bockstahler found the back of the net before the Eagles netted one of their own on the power play at the 3:20 mark.
Jasper Dale recorded the final goal of the half to increase the 'Eater lead to 10-4 heading into the break.
UCI went on a 5-1 run in the third quarter, with the first tally coming from
Samuel Otta on the power play. Biola capitalized on a power play of their own before Hubbard found the back of the net with an extra attacker.
Ethan Spoon and Atkinson scored the final goals of the period to increase the Anteater lead to 14-5 heading into the final frame.
