Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – UC Irvine closed out its three-match road trip to Nashville with a 3-1 (13-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-23) win over Belmont at the Curb Events Center Saturday afternoon.

The Anteaters snapped Belmont's nine-match winning streak (9-2) and hand the Bruins their first loss at home this season (5-1). UCI goes to 5-7 overall.

Setter Jessica Bates recorded her second triple-double of the season with a career-high 19 kills and 12 digs and a season-high 14 set assists. She hit .412 (19-5-34) and added two aces and four block assists. 

The Anteaters out-blocked the Bruins 13-8 behind Abby Pekrul and Sydnee Rowe's career-high six block assists. Senior Kendra Duffey had six total blocks (1 solo) and eight kills in the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
>Outside hitter Lois Hansen had 11 kills and three blocks assists
>Freshman Lillian Lansing was one shy of another double-double, posting nine kills and 12 digs
>Libero Campbell Jensen totaled a match-high 14 digs
>Freshman Angelina Dellutri recorded her second career double-double with a career-high 21 set assists and 10 digs
>Belmont was led by Brooke Gilleland and Brenna Kauffeld with 10 kills each

FIRST SET
>Belmont broke open the set scoring seven unanswered to take an 11-3 lead, The Bruins used three kills, an ace and a block plus two Anteater errors
>UCI would rally with kills from Jessica Bates, Lois Hansen and Sydnee Rowe and a block by Bates and Rowe, 11-19
>UCI could not overcome the early deficit with Belmont recording three consecutive kills to end the set 25-13

SECOND SET
>Belmont continued the momentum, jumping out to a 5-1 lead
>UCI scored six unanswered on kills by Lillian Lansing and Abby Pekrul, an ace by Bates and a block by Pekrul and Kendra Duffey, 16-12
>Two UCI errors helped Belmont close within 19-21, but the Anteaters answered with a kill and block assist by Bates, 23-19
>Another kill by Bates gave UCI set point, 24-21
>Following a two-point delay, Lansing pounded the set winner, 25-23

THIRD SET
>A kill by Lansing, a block by Pekrul and Duffey, a kill by Pekrul and block by Rowe and Hansen gave UCI a 4-2 lead only to watch Belmont score the next three to move in front 5-4
>Three kills by the Bruins helped Belmont to a 11-8 advantage
>A block and kill extended the Bruin lead further 14-10
>A Belmont service error started a six-point streak for UCI that saw two kills by Hansen and two by Bates, 16-14
>A kill by Bates and a block by Bates and Rowe made it 18-15
> A kill by Bates from the right side was followed by a soft touch over and down from Pekrul to increase the lead to 22-17
>Belmont would inch to 21-23 before a Belmont attack error gave UCI set point, 24-21
>After a Belmont kill, Hansen banged a ball off the Bruins for a kill, 25-22
 
FOURTH SET
>Bates and Lansing fired aces and Duffey had a solo block to get UCI off to a good start, 4-1
>A kill by Duffey and a Bruin attack into the net, forced a Belmont timeout, 6-2
>UCI continued to lead 11-7 on back-to-back kills by Bates and Duffey
>Kills by Rowe and Hansen gave UCI the 15-13 lead before Belmont had a kill, block and UCI error to take a 16-15 lead
>The Anteaters answered with a kill by Rowe and block by Rowe and Bates plus a kill by Bates, 18-16
>A kill by Lansing and a block by Duffey and Pekrul put UCI up 22-19
