IRVINE, Calif. – UC Irvine had 71 student-athletes named to the 2025 Big West Spring All-Academic Team the conference office announced Thursday afternoon.
Each of the Anteaters' nine spring sports had at least one representative on the all-academic list. Women's track & field, which won the program's first Big West Championship in May, led the way with 25 honorees. Men's track & field added 13, and women's water polo was also in double figures with 10.
Baseball saw six of its student-athletes earn all-academic recognition to complement a successful season on the field where they claimed the Big West regular season title and advanced to the NCAA Los Angeles Regional Final. Women's tennis and men's volleyball had five selections each, while back-to-back Big West champion men's tennis (3) and men's golf (3) had multiple award winners.
To be eligible for the Big West Spring All-Academic Team, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, complete one full year at their member institution prior to the season for which the award is being received (at least a sophomore academically), and compete in at least 50% of their team's contests. Baseball pitchers are exempt from any minimum participation requirements, while track & field student-athletes must have competed in either 50% of their team's regular-season meets or participated in the Big West Championships.
