UC Irvine Remains In Fourth At Big West Championship

LA QUINTA, Calif. -- UC Irvine remained in fourth place after the second round of the Big West Championship at the La Quinta Country Club.

The Anteaters, who are tied with UC Davis at fourth, have a two-day total of 575, carding a 285 Monday. UCI is tied with CSUN, recording a tournament-best 115 pars.

Cal State Fullerton tops the leaderboard at 17-under par 559 (279-280), while Long Beach State's Krishnav Chopraa continued to hold the individual lead at 129 (63-66).

Rei Harashima fired a team-best 68 and moved up six spots to sit in fifth place with a 36-hole score of 140 (72-68). He had five birdies, including three on the back nine.

Tommy Lin is tied for sixth after a posting a two-under par 70 on the second round, matching Harashima with with a team-best five birdies Monday. He has a total of 141 (71-70) for the tournament.

Jason Tang is tied for 23rd after recording consecutive rounds of 73 (146), while JJ Nakao is tied for 34th with back-to-back rounds of 74 (148). Jack Yu is tied for 38th with a two-day score of 149 (74-75).

UCI will play with UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara on the final round, beginning at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow.
