MARICOPA, Ariz. - The UC Irvine men's golf team finished 14th at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic Tuesday at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.

The Anteaters wrapped up the 54-hole tournament with a 5-count-4 score of 872 (284-296-292). No. 27 Long Beach State took home the team title at 37-under, while No. 65 Iowa State was 14 strokes back in second.

LBSU's Charlie Forster was the individual medalist at 20-under 196.

Junior
JJ Nakao led the 'Eaters with a top-20 showing. Nakao shot an even-par in the second and third rounds for a total of 4-under 212 (68-72-72). He tied for 14th out of 120 golfers.

Freshman
Tommy Lin and junior
Rei Harashima both had their best rounds of the tournament on Tuesday to climb 27 and 19 spots, respectively, to finish in a tie for 73rd. Lin (79-73-70) closed with a 2-under 70, while Harashima carded an even-par 72 (74-76-72).

Sophomore
Jason Tang tied for 82nd (70-75-78) and junior
Yaoting Zou rounded out UCI's lineup with a 229 (72-77-80).

UC Irvine will have a couple weeks to prepare for the Western Intercollegiate, April 14-16, at Pasatiempo Golf Club. That will be the Anteaters' final tune-up before the Big West Championships.
