Anteaters Sit In Sixth At Silicon Valley Showcase

MILLBRAE, Calif. -- UC Irvine sits in sixth place at the Silicon Valley Showcase held at the Green Hills Country Club.
The Anteaters shot a two-round total of 593 (297-296) and are in sixth place entering the final round tomorrow. Kansas State leads the field with a even par 568 (289-279).
Freshmen Katherine Gerbing (76-72) and Alona Avery (69-79) are tied for 23rd with a score of 148. Avery recorded a team-best 69 on the first round, which was tied for the lowest over the first 18 holes among the tournament field.
HaYoung Lee made an impact with a 36-hole score of 149 (74-75) and is tied for 27th. Alyson Sor is in 38th place with a total of 152 (78-74) and Katelyn Kong is 44th at 156 (81-75).
Lee and Avery led the Anteaters with six birdies each.
The tournament concludes tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
