UC Irvine Places Seventh At Silicon Valley Showcase

MILLBRAE, Calif. – UC Irvine finished seventh at the Silicon Valley Showcase held at the Green Hills Country Club Tuesday.

The Anteaters ended the tournament with a score of 895 (297-296-302). As a team, UCI finished with 35 birdies and 143 pars. Pepperdine won the tournament with a score of 854 (291-278-285) behind medalist Eunseo Choi who carded a 208 (69-71-68).

Freshman Katherine Gerbing led the Anteaters with a score of 224 (76-72-76), ending tied for 24^th place.

Sophomore Alyson Sor made the biggest move, improving 11 spots to a tie for 27^th with a score of 226 (78-74-74). Freshman HaYoung Lee was tied for 31^st with a 54-hole score of 227 (74-75-78), while freshmen Katelyn Kong (81-75-74) and Alona Avery (69-79-82) were tied for 39^th with a score of 230.

Next week, UCI will participate in the Olympic Club Invitational Monday-Tuesday (Mar. 31-Apr.1) at the Olympic Club.
