FROM THE PLAYERS
"Doubles started a little rough, but we picked up the momentum towards the end. I tried taking the momentum to singles and played consistent. The second set I lost a little bit of the momentum and was down 2-5 but i focused on each point and came back to win the set. Home games are always a little nerve wracking, but I loved the support from everyone at UCI. Go 'Eaters!" –Yen Nhi Huynh
"Coming off of a tough doubles loss, I played with a chip on my shoulder and that motivated me in singles. I kept the strategy that Coach Ferris Smith and I have been working on this week and trusted the hard work I've been putting in. My opponent played a very fast paced game, so solid ground strokes helped me through the many important points in the match. Both physically and mentally I felt prepared and confident thanks to the coaches. For this being my first ever match in the second spot, I am glad I played to my potential and very appreciative to the coaches and team to trust me in this position. I am proud of my teammates who showed grit today and I look forward to improving throughout the season!" –Carolyna Fowler
