'Eaters Stay In Irvine For Monmouth and UC Davis

IRVINE, Calif.— UCI stays at home this week for two matches, the first against Monmouth on Friday Feb. 14 before kicking off Big West play against UC Davis on Sunday Feb. 16.

Scouting Monmouth
Monmouth heads into the match with an 0-2 overall record in dual match competition and it will be their first stop in Irvine in program history. The two teams last met in New Jersey on Oct. 5, 2018, taking down the Hawkes, 6-1. Monmouth dropped 4-0 to Army in their last outing (Feb. 8).
The Hawkes lone point of the season came by way of two doubles victories against Rider where the No. 2 pairing of Ximena Cano and Lauren Landstrom won 6-2 and the No. 3 duo of Becky Fisher and Faith Sadgrove defeated their opponents 6-4.
Scouting UC Davis
UC Davis enters the weekend with a 2-5 overall record and will stop first in La Jolla at UC San Diego for a two-game Big West swing in southern California. In the Aggies last outing, they took down Pacific 6-1.
Both Solia Valentine and Penelope Wong each have three singles wins, the most on the team. Valentine holds a 3-4 record at the No. 2 spot and Wong is 3-2 at the No. 6 position. Kaia Wolfe and Claire Galerkin hold strong at No. 3 double with a 6-1 record.
