'Eaters Wrap up Action in Palm Desert

PALM DESERT, Calif. – UC Irvine men's golf finished 11th at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate Wednesday at the Classic Club.
 
The Anteaters closed out the three-day tournament with a 5-count-4 total of 874 (288-290-296). No. 36 Charlotte won the team title at 31-under (275-280-278), while Colorado Christian's Xavier Bighaus was the individual medalist at 12-under 204.
 
Junior Yaoting Zou led the 'Eaters in a tie for 29th with a 2-under 214 (70-71-73). Zou has come in below par in both of his tournaments this season.
 
Freshman Tommy Lin, who eagled the par-5, 560-yard 14th hole, had UCI's best round of the day at even-par 72. He moved up four spots into a tie for 32nd at 1-under 215 (71-72-72).
 
Junior Rei Harashima tied for 58th (75-72-75), while freshman Jack Yu tied for 62nd (72-76-76). Sophomore Jason Tang rounded out the Anteaters' lineup in a tie for 71st (75-75-77).
 
UC Irvine will be idle until March 23-25 when it heads to Torrey Pines in La Jolla for the UC San Diego Invitational.
