IRVINE, Calif. -- UCI closes out regular season action against the Cal State schools, first heading over the cross-county foe Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 27 for a 7 p.m. start. On Saturday (Mar. 1), the Anteaters will hold their annual homecoming game and honor the program's five seniors as they host Long Beach State.

> Long Beach State enters the contest with a 7-22 overall record and 3-14 in the Big West

Prior to the start of Saturday's contest, graduate students Andre Henry, Justin Hohn, Ofure Ujadughele and seniors Bent Leuchten and Devin Tillis will be honored for their contributions to the Anteater program.

BATTLING TO BE TOP OF THE BIG WEST
Through 17 league games played, UC Irvine sits second in the standings with a 14-3 Big West record, hanging behind UC San Diego (25-4 overall, 15-2 Big West).  The Anteaters are ahead of CSUN (20-8, 12-5) for third. UC Riverside and UC Santa Barbara have also reached double figure wins in the league, good for fourth (12-6, 19-11 overall) and fifth in the standings (11-7, 19-10), respectively.

MID-MAJOR POLL POSITION
The Anteaters ranks seventh in the College Insider Mid-Major poll, with their 620 total points. The Anteaters have been top 10 in the poll for 65 straight weeks.

BLACK AND BLUE RIVALRY
Just 25 minutes and the 405 separate UC Irvine and Long Beach State. The series was first started in the 1965-66 season with league play picking up over 12 years later in the 1977-78 season. UC Irvine earned their first regular season sweep since 2021 just a season ago. The Anteaters hold a 28-23 record against the Beach inside the Bren Events Center, winning four straight on their home court.

THE BIG WEST'S COACHING RANKS
Head coach Russell Turner holds 313 wins in his career and in the Big West, tying former UC Santa Barbara leader Bob Williams (19 seasons, 1999-917) for third all-time in the league (313). With one more win, Turner will hold the third-place standing by himself.

BIG WEST GAMES PLAYED: 149 AND COUNTING
Graduate student Ofure Ujadughele rewrote Big West and school history with his appearance on Feb. 27 at Cal State Fullerton, playing in his 149th career game. The appearance marked his name in both the UC Irvine and Big West record books for most games played. 

VETERAN TALENT: CAREER GAMES PLAYED IN THE BIG WEST 
In his fifth season on the court and sixth overall with the UC Irvine squad, guard Justin Hohn has played 143 career games, entering the league's top ten in the category, placing sixth, and is just one appearance away from tying UNLV's Freddie Banks (144, 1984-87) for fifth in the ladder. 

LAST TIME OUT VERSUS LONG BEACH STATE (JAN, 30, 2025)
Forward Devin Tillis scored eight points in overtime to lead UC Irvine to an 80-75 victory at the Walter Pyramid Thursday. UCI trailed The Beach by 10, 64-54, with 5:46 to play and held LBSU scoreless for almost four minutes. The 'Eaters went on a 14-4 run, including the final seven points, to tie the game and send it into overtime. Tillis took over in the extra frame, hitting 3-3 from the floor, including two three-pointers in the final five minutes. The Beach cut the lead to three on a long-range shot before fouling Justin Hohn off the rebound. Hohn would record the final two free throws with one second left to end the game. The Anteaters were a perfect 13-13 from the free throw line, while LBSU went 6-10 from the stripe. It is the second time this season where UCI has not missed a shot at the line.

BOARD GAMES
UC Irvine and Long Beach State contrast each other on the boards. The Anteaters are second in the Big West and 31st nationally with 38.8 rebounds per game while the Beach only record 31.7 grabs off the glass per game, 11th in the league. UCI also lands first in defensive rebounds per game (29.48) and fourth in rebound margin (3.9) while LBSU is tenth (22.2) and ninth (-2.8) in both categories, respectively, in the conference. 

THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE
The Anteaters have been sharp at the free throw line this season with 484 makes in 610 attempts and leads the Big West in free throw percentage (0.793) which is also the nation's sixth best shooting clip at the line. UC Irvine went a perfect 13-13 at the charity stripe on Jan. 30, their second time doing so this season (14-14 vs. Pepperdine on Nov. 16).  UCI shot a season high 33-40 from the charity stripe on Dec. 5 in the win over Cal State Bakersfield. Additionally, UC Irvine has held 15 opponents to just single digit makes from the line, the last at UC San Diego (Feb. 27) and did so in four consecutive games (Dec. 19-Jan. 2). In the national standings, Bent Leuchten ranks fifth in made free throws (166) and 16th in free throw attempts (200) while Myles Che is 16th in free throw percentage (0.894). 

SHARING THE BALL WELL
UC Irvine dished out 22 assists on 27 made baskets in the win over Hawai'i (Jan. 25). It is just the fifth time this season where the Anteaters have dished out 20 or more assists in a game. The 'Eaters had their best assist rate game against CSUN on Feb. 20 with 86.4 percent of their baskets assisted (19-22). UCI is second in the Big West in assists per game (15.86) and in conference games (16.47). Justin Hohn and Myles Che are the top distributors for the 'Eaters, combining to give UCI a 18-4 record when either one of them dishes out four or more assists a game (Hohn 9-4, Che 9-0). 

EFFICIENCY IN IRVINE
Bent Leuchten is the Big West's most efficient player thus far into the season with a 30.4 grade, sitting second. Leuchten ranks first in overall box plus/minus (10.9) and offensive rating (133.8). The center also ranks second in defensive rating (88.2) and offensive box plus/minus (7.3) while sitting third in defensive box/plus minus (3.6).

CHASING 1K
Redshirt senior Devin Tillis enters Saturday's contest with 922 career points, 78 tallies away from the achievement in his UCI career, would become the 35th Anteater to accomplish this feat in a UC Irvine uniform, the third of the season to join guard Justin Hohn and center Bent Leuchten on the list. On Feb. 22 at Cal State Bakersfield, Tillis reached the 1,000 career scorers milestone, recording 1,004 tallies between his time at UNLV and UCI.

IMPRESSIVE AT ROAD WIN AT CSUF FOR UC IRVINE, 76-51
UC Irvine rolled to a 76-51 victory over Cal State Fullerton led by the career-high scoring of Jurian Dixon and the strength of a season-high in blocks. Dixon went 9-11 from the floor, including 3-4 from long range at Titan Gym Thursday for his game and career-best 21 points. The guard also had three steals and two assists in 30 minutes of action. The Anteaters swatted a season and Big West-high 11 blocks, led by Elijah Chol's career-tying five. Four other UCI players recorded a block: Leuchten (3), Kyle Evans (2) and Torian Lee (1). With the win, head coach Russell Turner moved into a tie for third in Big West all-time wins joining former UC Santa Barbara leader Bob Williams with 313 and counting. The Anteaters continue to be a force on the road, notching their nation leading 12th road victory and 15th overall win away from the Bren Center this season.

Out of 2302 eligible players, Bent Leuchten is seventh in free throw rate (79.9), ninth in fouls drawn per 40 minutes (7.3), 27th in true shooting percentage (66.0), and 43rd in defensive rebound percentage (24.9). Myles Che ranks 39th in free throw percentage (0.894). Additionally, guard Justin Hohn has played 142 career games, entering the league's top ten in the category, placing sixth, and is just two appearances away from tying UNLV's Freddie Banks (144, 1984-87) for fifth in the ladder. 

LAST TIME OUT VERSUS CAL STATE FULLERTON (JAN, 16, 2025)
Defense was key in UC Irvine's 82-62 win over Cal State Fullerton at the Bren Events Center. The Anteaters pulled down a season-high 51 rebounds, including 39 on the defensive end, and scored 17 points off Titan turnovers. UC Irvine was led by Bent Leuchten who recorded his eighth double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Leuchten knocked down a career-best three three-pointers in the win, going 60 percent from long-range (3-5). The center became one of six players nationally to have six or more 20 point, 10 rebound games this season. With the win, the Anteaters tied the school record for most consecutive home wins with 19 in a row. 

DUKING IT OUT AT THE STRIPE
Both the Anteaters and Titans are the league's best free throw shooting teams up to this point in the season. Cal State Fullerton ranks 35th in the nation in free throws made per game (16.5) and 41st in free throw attempts per game (22.2), landing second and first in the conference, respectively. 

PRODUCTION FROM THE BENCH
UC Irvine looks to halt the Titans momentum from their bench players as Cal State Fullerton ranks second in the Big West in bench points per game (27.00), good for 40th in the nation. 42 percent of the Titans scoring comes from their second and third units.

UCI OWNED THE GLASS IN 73-64 VICTORY OVER ROADRUNNERS
UC Irvine held a 42-29 advantage in rebounding on the way to a 73-64 victory over Cal State Bakersfield at the Icardo Center Saturday.Guard Jurian Dixon led UCI with 16 points, just one off his career-best set earlier in the season against the Roadrunners. He hit 4-9 from the floor and 7-8 from the line while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out a career-high five assists. It was Dixon's second time pacing the Anteater offense this season. UCI's domination of the glass was led by center Bent Leuchten's game-high 11 boards. The senior also added 12 points for his 12th double-double of the season. Guard Myles Che totaled 12 points with a pair of three-pointers (2-3, 0.667). Forward Devin Tillis added eight points, six rebounds, two steals and two assists while guard Torian Lee recorded eight points, four rebounds and two assists.

THIS JUST-IN!
Justin Hohn is a UC Irvine squad leader with 311 total points and 11.1 points per game scoring. The graduate student has 58 double figure scoring games in his career, the most of any player on the Anteater squad, Hohn reached 1,200 career points in his seven-point outing against UC San Diego on Feb. 8. The guard leads the Anteaters in both assists (104) and steals (42).

DOUBLE TROUBLE
Devin Tillis is a threat both on offense and defense for the Anteaters. The forward coverts at a high rate from the floor (135-252, 0.536) and has 18 double digit scoring games on the season. Additionally, Tillis is second on the squad in rebounds with 211 total (7.8 rpg). Tillis is second on the team with 11 career double-doubles, posting his fifth of the season versus Hawai'i on Jan. 25 (11 pts, 13 rebs).

THE GERMAN PAINTER
Bent Leuchten dominates at the post or in the paint whether it is scoring baskets or grabbing the ball off the glass. The center is the team's leader off the glass, averaging 8.8 rebounds a game in 28 contests played, and paces the scoring at 15.7 points per game. Leuchten has posted double-figure scoring games in 22 games this year, the latest at Cal State Baskerfield (Feb. 22) where he put up 12 points. The German is just one of seven players who have seven or more 20 point, 10 rebound efforts this season.

CHE-SANITY
At the top of the formation for the Anteaters, Myles Che helps lead the distribution effort with his 77 total assists. Che adds to the scoring effort with his 12.3 points per game and recorded his first double digit scoring game in an Anteater uniform at Northern Iowa on Nov. 10 with his ten points. The guard had his 18th double figure scoring effort of the season, 12 at Cal State Bakersfield, after seeing his 13-game double figure scoring streak ended on Feb. 15. Additionally, Che has knocked down at least one three-pointer in the last 12 contests.

FITTING RIGHT IN
Redshirt freshman guard Jurian Dixon entered the UC Irvine starting lineup on Dec. 14 at Oregon State and has proved himself on both the offensive and defensive ends. The guard averages 7.8 points per game and 3.2 rebounds per game over 28 contests. Dixon continues to have career performances or break through nights, his latest at Cal State Bakersfield (Feb. 22) with a team-high 16 points and career-best five assists.

SWAT TEAM
Junior transfer Kyle Evans registered multiple blocks in three straight contests (Nov. 29-Dec. 5) and saw his six-game block streak (Jan. 11-Jan. 30) come to an end, totaling 35 over 28 contests. His 35 swats at the rim rank fourth in the Big West. The forward had several career performances in a few games span with his latest on Jan. 25 versus Hawai'i where he matched his career high 12 points on perfect 6-6 shooting from the floor and tied his career best four blocks.

BRICK WALL
The big men down low of Bent Leuchten, Kyle Evans, and Elijah Chol pose a threat in the defensive paint for opponents. The three trio combine to average 9.3 defensive rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game. All three big men have double figure blocks on the season: Leuchten (38), Evans (35), and Chol (10). In conference contests, the trio average 9.3 defensive rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game.

PUT IT IN THE PAINT
UCI has outscored their opponents by 162 points when scoring in the paint (UCI 918, Opp. 756). The Anteaters average 32.8 points in the paint per game and have scored 40 or more points in nine games so far (Chapman--42, Northern Iowa--48, Weber State--44, Kennesaw State--44, Belmont--42, California Baptist--46, Cal Poly--42, Cal Poly--46, UC Santa Barbara--40).

OLD RELIABLE
With a veteran team that has won multiple championships in the last few seasons, three UC Irvine veteran starters are averaging double figures. Bent Leuchten leads the way with 15.7, Devin Tillis right behind at 13.2, and Justin Hohn next at 11.1. While not a veteran who has played their whole career at UC Irvine, Myles Che is the fourth player on the team to average double digits with 12.3 points.

1,000-POINT CLUB
Graduate student Justin Hohn etched his name into the UC Irvine record book as the 33rd Anteater to eclipse the 1,000-point mark. The guard reached this milestone in the victory over Towson (Nov. 30) and has 1,228 career tallies. Hohn begins his ascent in the ranks and is 17 points away from passing Mike Heckman (1,244--1966-69) for 20th. Additionally, senior Bent Leuchten etched his name into the UC Irvine record book as the 34th Anteater to eclipse the 1,000-point mark. The center reached this milestone in the game against CSUN (Feb. 20) and has 1,021 career tallies. Leuchten begins his ascent in the ranks and is 42 points away from surpassing Jaron Martin (1,062--2013-17) for 32nd.

500-REBOUND MACHINES 
Redshirt senior Devin Tillis put his name into the UC Irvine record book as the 28th Anteater to reach the 500-rebound achievement. The forward reached this milestone in the win at California Baptist (Dec. 30) and has 618 career boards. Tillis continues his ascent in the ranks and 14th in the all-time rebounding list with 618, just 53 from meeting Ben McDonald (670, 1980-84) for 13th. Additionally, senior Bent Leuchten became the 29th Anteater to pull down 500 rebounds in their UCI career. The center accomplished this feat at UC Riverside (Jan. 23) and has 570 career rebounds. Leuchten needs 16 to go ahead of Mark Nelson (585, 1965-67) for 20th.

STEALING THE LEAD
Guard Justin Hohn entered the top 10 in the program for steals with five takeaways at Cal Poly (Jan. 2). He ranks seventh with 139 in his career and needs five more in order to move in front of Evan Leonard (143, 2016-20) for sixth.

THREE-POINT SNIPER
Justin Hohn placed his name in the record book for the third time this season, entering the top 10 in career made three-pointers made with his three triples against Hawai'i (Jan. 25). He is eighth with 182. Hohn needs eight more three-pointers to reach Jaron Martin (190, 2013-17) for seventh.

KENPOM LEADERS
Out of 2304 eligible players, Bent Leuchten is sixth in free throw rate (81.0), sixth in fouls drawn per 40 minutes (7.4), 32nd in true shooting percentage (65.5), and 49th in defensive rebound percentage (24.4). Myles Che ranks 40th in free throw percentage (0.894).
