IRVINE, Calif. – Despite a slow offensive night, UC Irvine was in the first two sets, but would end up suffering a 3-0 loss to league-leading UC Davis (23-25, 22-25, 12-25) Friday afternoon at the Bren Events Center.

UCI hit just .028 (24-21-107), the second lowest of the season. The Anteaters go to 10-15 overall and 5-8 in the Big West, while UC Davis improves to 16-5 overall and 12-1 in the Big West.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
>Middle blocker Sydnee Rowe continued her hot hand, leading the team with eight kills to go with a team-high three block assists
>Outside hitter Kendra Duffey totaled five kills, four digs and a block assist
>Setter Nicole Feliciano had her 10^th double-double of the year with 17 set assists and a team-high 15 digs. She also added two block assists
>Libero Campbell Jensen, the reigning Big West Defensive Player of the Week, recorded 13 digs
>Pin hitters Madison Triplett and Lois Hansen each had three kills. Triplett also contributed 11 digs
>The Aggies out-blocked UCI 11-6 and held a advantage in digs (57-53)and aces (5-3)
>UCD's Jade Light had a match-best 13 kills and 20 digs

FIRST SET
>UC Davis started with the first three point before the Anteaters caught them at 5-5 using a pair of Madison Triplett kills and an ace by Izzy Romero
>A block capped an Aggie run that put them back in front 9-6
>Three Aggie errors helped UCI to creep within 15-16, but UC Davis answered with two blocks and a kill to stretch the lead to 19-15
>A dump by Nicole Feliciano for a kill, an ace by Emma Napoleon and a soft tip to the middle of the court by Sydnee Rowe brought the Anteaters to 19-20
>Following a timeout called by UC Davis, Kendra Duffey and Rowe blocked a ball to tie the set at 20 all
>UC Davis would use two kills and an Anteater attack error to regain control, 24-20
>A kill by Rowe delayed the Aggie win on a kill, 25-23
>Rowe was 4-0-5 (.800) with three blocks in the set

SECOND SET
>A kill by Rowe was followed by consecutive Aggie attack errors to give UCI the early 3-1 lead
>A block by Ally Bolden and Feliciano increased the margin to 8-4
>Campbell Jensen laid out for a dig and Duffey put it away, 11-8
>UC Davis would score five in a row, which included two aces to move in front 15-13
>Following two UCI points, the Aggies scored another five straight on three kills and a block, 20-15
>UCI kept fighting going on a 5-1 run, that included kills by Duffey and Rowe and three UC Davis attack errors, 22-23
> Back-to-back kills gave UC Davis the 25-23 victory

THIRD SET
>An ace capped a 3-0 start for the Aggies
>Another ace and four UCI attack errors during a 7-1 spurt by UC Davis increased the lead to 11-4
>Ava Gronemeyer immediately recorded a kill after entering the match, 8-15
>UCD would go on to a 25-12 win as the Anteaters hit -.114 (6-10-35) in the set

NOTES
>Triplett has six double-figure dig performances
