UC Irvine will participate in The Hawaiian Islands presents the 2025 Outrigger Women's Volleyball Championship beginning Wednesday (Nov. 26) battling Black & Blue rival Long Beach State at the LBS Financial Credit Union Pyramid in Long Beach, Calif.
The Anteaters are the No. 6 seed and will face No. 3 seeded Long Beach State at 6:00 p.m.
UC Santa Barbara and CSUN tangle before at 3:00 p.m.
STORYLINES
UC Irvine finished the regular season 13-17 with a league record of 8-10 tying Hawaii for sixth place. UCI qualified for the championship by way of a head-to-head tiebreaker with the Rainbow Wahine. In the lone meeting of the year, the Anteaters swept Hawaii in Irvine.
 For the second consecutive year, UCI had to have a big win and a little help to qualify. After falling in five to UC Santa Barbara on Friday, the Anteaters took down second place Cal Poly, 3-0.
On senior day against the Mustangs, UCI was led by sophomore
Madison Triplett's 12 kills, but had a lot of production from their veteran crew on their last match on Court 21. Libero
Campbell Jensen collecting 17 digs and outside hitter
Kendra Duffey totaling eight kills.

Middle blocker
Elizabeth Miller made the start and had five total blocks (two solo), while middle blocker
Ally Bolden recorded six kills and serving specialist
Emma Napoleon fired an important ace with three digs.
 AT THE CHAMPIONSHIP
UC Irvine is 0-2 at the Big West Championship, falling to UC Davis 1-3 in 2024 and to Long Beach State in five sets in 2023.
VERSUS THE BEACH
Long Beach State is 21-8 overall, ending in a tie with UC Santa Barbara for third place with a 14-4 conference mark. The Beach enters the week on a four-match winning streak, including handing league champion UC Davis one of its two defeats in that span.
UC Irvine opened the Big West schedule with a three-set loss to The Beach (16-25, 25-27, 15-25) at the Bren Events Center.
Kendra Duffey led the Anteaters with eight kills and two block assists, while Logan King led The Beach with a match-high 12 kills.
Long Beach State registered 10 total blocks, which is tied for second most against UCI this season. They also fired 11 aces, the third most versus the Anteaters this season.
In the rematch at Long Beach, The Beach once again swept the Anteaters ruining the impressive performance by middle blocker
Sydnee Rowe. The graduate student had a career-high 10 kills in 17 attempts without an error (.588) plus six total blocks (2 solo).
The Beach out-hit UCI .270-.162 and held a 8.5-7.0 advantage in blocks, digs (56-44) and aces (7-3). Madi Maxwell and Nieko Thomas each totaled 10 kills for LBSU.
