LONG BEACH, Calif. – Middle blocker 
Sydnee Rowe's impressive performance was not enough as UC Irvine dropped a 3-0 (15-25, 23-25, 22-25) decision to Long Beach State at the Water Pyramid Saturday.
Rowe had a career-high 10 kills in 17 attempts without an error (.588). The graduate student also had six total blocks (2 solo).

Kendra Duffey recorded nine kills and 10 digs

Ally Bolden totaled five kills

Nicole Feliciano had 24 set assists, five digs, two kills and a block assist

>The Beach answered with the next four, the last two blocks to regain the lead, 15-12

>Down , 16-22, UCI rallied on kills from Bolden, Duffey and Romero plus an ace by 
Emma Napoleon, and block by Rowe and Feliciano, 22-22
>LBSU would score three of the final points to win the set 25-23
THIRD SET
>An early 4-1 lead by Long Beach grew to 7-3 on a pair of kills and an ace
>The Anteaters were ignited by kills from Feliciani and Duffey and an ace by 
Emma Napoleon, 10-11
>The Beach responded with a 5-1 run to extend the margin back to 16-11
>A kill and block assist by 
Ava Gronemeyer sparked a 6-1 run that tied the set at 19-19 on a kill by Feliciano
>Once again Long Beach State had an answer rattling off the next four, 23-19
>A Long Beach service error and ace by Napoleon made it interesting before LBSU ended the match with a kill.
