UC Irvine Women's Tennis Wins Three Matches on Second Day at Jack Kramer Classic

IRVINE, Calif. – The UC Irvine women's tennis team continued play at the Jack Kramer Classic in Rolling Hills Estates, Calif. on Saturday.

The Anteaters won three of four matches played on the second day of the tournament, which were all singles format. UCI did not play doubles at the event on Saturday. 

Matches that finished two sets tied at 1-1 were decided by a game to 10 to determine a match winner on the second day of the tournament.

Amanda Perez, Carolyna Fowler and Yen Nhi Huynh all recorded victories for the Anteaters on Saturday, with Fowler coming back from a first-set loss to win her second set 6-2 and ultimately the tiebreaking game 10-7.

UC Irvine will continue play in the Jack Kramer Classic through Sunday, Nov. 2.

3. Yen Nhi Huynh (UCI) def. Schaefer (BSU) 6-2, 7-6 (7-5)
4. Zahraj (LMU) def. Haily Huynh (UCI) 6-0, 6-4

Doubles
No doubles were played on Day 2 of the classic.

*Matches on Day 2 of the classic that ended with a 1-1 set tie were decided by a first to 10 game, as opposed to a full third set.
