IRVINE, Calif. – Sophomore Cole Francisco has been named the Big West Men's Water Polo Player of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.

Francisco recorded 10 points on four goals and six assists against two top 15 ranked teams last week. On Wednesday, Francisco netted two goals and tallied four assists in UCI's 8-9 loss against No. 15 Princeton. On Saturday, Francisco registered two goals and added two assists to lead the 'Eaters to a 10-9 upset of No. 10 UC Santa Barbara and their first Big West win of the season.

For the week, Francisco converted on four of his nine shot attempts (.444) and added two steals.

This is Francisco's second career Big West weekly award, his first of the season, and the third for UC Irvine in 2025.
