IRVINE, Calif. – The UC Irvine men's tennis team kicks off the 2025 fall tournament season this week with the Big West Fall Invitational, Oct. 2-5, and the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic, Oct. 3-5.

Ruining Huang are entered in the Big West Fall Invitational at Arnhold Tennis Center in Santa Barbara. Main draw singles and doubles get underway on Thursday. The winner of the event will represent The Big West at the ITA Conference Masters Championship in November.

Four Anteaters are also headed south as UCI is set to compete in the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic for the second year in a row.

Alexander Guajardo, and
Greg Gamal will play in the three-day tournament at USD's Skip and Hogan Tennis Center. The 'Eaters are scheduled to face Navy on Friday, Oregon on Saturday, and Boise State on Sunday in a hidden dual format.

UC Irvine enters the 2025-26 season as the two-time defending Big West Champions. The Anteaters have five returners from last year's squad that went 18-6, including All-Big West selection
Max Fardanesh. Fardanesh boasted a 17-6 overall singles record, while going 12-3 in dual matches (5-0 Big West). Graduate student
Hiroki Sakagawa, who missed a majority of last season with an injury, is also back after earning first-team All-Big West honors in singles and second-team distinction in doubles in 2023-24.
