DOUBLE DOSE
For the third time this season both Devin Tillis and Bent Leuchten recorded double-doubles in the same contest. In the loss at UC Riverside (Jan. 23), Leuchten grabbed a game-best 12 rebounds and was second on the squad with 17 points while Tillis ended with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Both players are top five in the Big West in double-doubles this season, the last versus Cal State Fullerton (Jan. 16) for Leuchten and at Cal Poly (Jan. 2) for Tillis.

LAST TIME OUT VERSUS HAWAI'I (FEB. 3, 2024)
UC Irvine shot a blistering 0.614 clip from the floor and 0.913 from the free throw line in a 93-68 victory over Hawai'i at the Bren Events Center. The Anteaters saw scoring from 11 different players and the offensive performance (35-57) was the second-best field goal percentage of the season just behind the 0.615 night in a 111-51 win over Occidental. UCI went 21-23 from the stripe, matching the second most made at that point in the 2023-24 season.  The 93 points were the most by the Anteaters against a Big West opponent and third most overall a year ago. The Anteaters dominated the paint, outscoring the Rainbow Warriors, 62-34, and held a 37-25 rebound advantage. Center Bent Leuchten was locked in from the opening tip and led UCI in scoring with 15 points. He shot 5-6 (0.833) from the floor including one of UCI's two three-pointers, 4-4 from the free throw line, and pulled down six rebounds.

TOP DOGS: OFFENSE VS. DEFENSE
Saturday's game will be a battle between one of the Big West's best offensive scoring percentages (Hawaii, 47.0) and the top scoring percentage defense from the field and three-point range (UC Irvine, 38.4 and 30.8). UCI ranks 12th nationally in field goal percentage defense and 63rd in three-point percentage defense where UH only lands top 100 in one of those categories, sitting 79th in field goal percentage offense.

BOARD GAMES
Both Hawai'i and UC Irvine are strong in varying rebounding categories and they will be put to the test in Saturday's meeting. The Rainbow Warriors hold a 6.9 rebounding margin against their opponents, which sits 30th in the national ranks, but the Anteaters also sit in the top 50 at 49th in the category (+5.5). UH has only been out-rebounded three times this season where UCI has pulled down fewer rebounds than their opposition five times this season.  On the other hand, UCI controls the defensive glass with 30.55 boards per game (third nationally) and grab 40 rebounds per contest (25th in NCAA).
