FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. --- Tati Fung has signed a professional contract with Fort Lauderdale United FC of the newly-formed USL Super League.

The USL Super League is a new eight-team women's professional soccer league in the United States and the Division One standard. FTL UTD joins clubs from Brooklyn, Carolina, Dallas, DC, Lexington, Spokane, and Tampa Bay in the inaugural season that began this August.

Fung penned a statement to UC Irvine, the coaches, and her teammates about her decision:

"My time at UCI has been truly remarkable. Over the past two seasons, I have gained more than I could have ever anticipated. UCI has instilled in me the confidence to be true to myself both as a soccer player and as an individual. I have been fortunate to work with an exceptional coaching staff who have empowered me to believe that I can overcome any challenge, and I am deeply grateful for their unwavering support both on and off the field.

To my incredible teammates, both past and present, playing alongside you has been the most exciting and enjoyable experience of my college soccer journey. Overcoming every obstacle & opponent that has came our way has been the highlight of my soccer career. I cherish each of you, and these memories will stay with me for a lifetime.

After much consideration, I have decided not to return for my final season and will be embarking on my professional career. Thank you to everyone for your continued love and support - it means more to me than words can express."

Fung ends her Anteater career having started all 48 matches played since transferring from the University of Texas. She played over 3,600 minutes scoring three goals including two game-winners, assisting on 13, and contributed to two Big West Championships and two trips the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in her two seasons as an 'Eater.
