
Men's Basketball Signs Guard Myles Che

IRVINE, Calif.-- UC Irvine men's basketball adds a talented guard in Myles Che to their incoming class.

Che makes the trip back to his home state after just one season at Chattanooga. The guard averaged 7.5 points per game behind a team-best 0.527 shooting clip from the floor and scored in 27 of his 28 appearances. Additionally, Che posted seven double- figure scoring performances that includes his season-high 22 points (7-12 FG) which came in the Mocs victory over Louisville.

The incoming sophomore finished his rookie campaign with 211 points, 66 rebounds, 54 assists, and 18 steals.

"Myles was our top guard target in the transfer market, and I am excited to add him to our experienced group of veterans who expect to contend for championships in the coming season," remarked head coach Russell Turner. "He is a natural point guard and an excellent fit with our returning players because of his intelligence, his competitiveness, and his passing talent.ย Myles has a bright future as an Anteater."

Prior to his year with the Mocs, Che was prepped by Joedy Gardner at Fairmont Prep and then went on to win a championship with Rob Johnson at The Skills Factory.

Che adds to his family's legacy at UC Irvine after watching his brother, Owen, graduate with his degree in Psychology this spring.ย

Che joins Kyle Evans in the incoming recruiting class, entering the Anteaterย programย that concluded the 2023-24 campaign with a 24-10 overall record, including a 17-3 conference record to defend their Big West regular-season championship title.
