IRVINE, Calif.-- UC Irvine men's basketball adds transfer
Kyle Evans to the 2024-25 roster.
Â
Evans, an Aliso Viejo native, returns to Southern California for his junior campaign after attending Colorado State his first two seasons. Efficient from the floor, the forward was able to convert at an 0.800 clip from the floor in nine games played in 2023-24.
Â
"
Kyle Evans was a target of ours out of high school, and we are excited to add him as a transfer student-athlete who will impact our program with his shot-blocking instincts, rebounding, and offensive versatility,"Â stated head coach
Russell Turner. "He is a skilled big man who makes others better and is an exceptional teammate."
Â
Evans adds NCAA postseason experience into UC Irvine's championship program after helping the Rams to a victory over Virginia, 67-42, in the First Four in the 2024 March Madness. Â
Â
Prior to his stint at Colorado State, the forward attended Santa Margarita Catholic High School under Justin Bell where he played a pivotal role in their No. 3 final ranking in Orange County.
Â
Evans enters the Anteater program that concluded the 2023-24 campaign with a 24-10 overall record, including a 17-3 conference record to defend their Big West regular season championship title.
