Josh Farmer and junior
Max Daniels have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's Track & Field Academic All-District Team.

Farmer was recently named a second-team All-American for the third time in his illustrious career. He is the 2024 Big West decathlon champion and went on to finish 12th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Back in April, the San Diego native established a personal-record and NCAA qualifying score of 7,703 points at the Bryan Clay Invitational. At the end of the season, that mark ranked first in The Big West, 11th in the West Region and 14th in all of NCAA Division I. His PR also earned him a spot in the U.S. Olympic Trials that get underway this weekend.

On Friday, Farmer graduated with his master's degree in demographic and social analysis. He is a two-time USTFCCCA and Big West All-Academic selection.

Daniels finished third in the decathlon at the Big West Championships. The Santa Maria, California, native established a personal-record 7,435 points to win the Group B decathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational, April 11-12. That point total ranks fifth all-time at UC Irvine, fourth in The Big West, 22nd in the West Region and 31st in the nation. He is also eighth in school history in the 100m (10.61) and long jump (7.39m/24-3). Daniels is majoring in sociology.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and be in the top-50 in the region in a single event (cross country, indoor or outdoor).
