Deandra Tyler represented UC Irvine women's track & field at the NCAA West First Round Thursday evening at John McDonnell Field.

Andar was making her second NCAA regional appearance in the 10,000-meter. She crossed the finish line in 35:00.22 to place 22nd in the field of 48. It was her second-fastest 10K of the season. On April 11, Andar ran a personal-record 33:07.48, which ranks second in school history. Earlier this month, she also earned her second career All-Big West award in the 10K.

Tyler finished 43rd in the shot put in her first NCAA appearance. She opened with a toss of 14.86 meters (48-9), which stood as her best of the competition. Tyler is a three-time all-conference performer in the shot put. She has etched her name in the UCI record books as she is ranked third in the shot put (15.38m/50-5.5) and sixth in the hammer (54.61m/179-2).

The women's events will resume on Saturday, May 25.
Kailah McKenzie will be in action for the Anteaters in the high jump which is scheduled for a 2 p.m. (CT)/12 p.m. (PT) start.
