Paris Bound! David Smith Named To U.S. Olympic Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Volleyball announced former UC Irvine All-American and national champion David Smith has made the U.S. Men's Volleyball Team for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Smith and teammate Matt Anderson will be making their fourth Olympic Games. The duo joins Lloy Ball and Reid Priddy as the only four-timers in men's history.

The middle blocker made his Olympic debut at London in 2012 and earned a bronze medal at the Rio Games in 2016.

In 2023, Smith named to the Volleyball Nation's League Dream Team as the U.S. Men's National Team took home the silver medal for the second straight year.

Smith was a member of UCI's first national championship team in 2007, leading the nation in hitting with a .559 mark his senior year. He was named first-team All-American and NCAA All-Tournament Team in 2007.
