LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UC Irvine women's track & field team opened the Triton Invitational in the throws Friday at Triton Track & Field Stadium.

Jolie Robinson placed seventh out of 32 in the javelin. Her best throw of the day came on her third attempt where she hit 39.27 meters (128-10). Junior
Jazzmine Davis also had a toss of 31.38m (102-11).

DeAna Davis led the Anteaters in the hammer, where she took ninth in a field of 37 athletes. Davis posted a mark of 51.92m (170-4). Senior
Deandra Tyler was right behind her in 10th at 51.11m (167-8).

Nyla Baker competed in the elite section of the discus, finishing with a best of 43.69m (143-4).

The 'Eaters will be back in action tomorrow for the second day of the Triton Invitational. A full day of events is slated for a 10 a.m. start.
