IRVINE, Calif.-- UC Irvine women's soccer's next freshman newcomer brings the energy in Ivy Williams.

Williams joins the program that has a rich history in her position at center midfielder of hard-nosed field generals. In Thousand Oaks, the 5-6 captain was Athlete of the Year at Thousand Oaks High School while also being named Defensive MVP, Offensive MVP, and Team MVP. She garnered Defensive MVP of the Marmonte League in which she also was on its First Team, and added First Team All-County distinction.

Williams branched out from soccer during high school earning accolades on track & field including two-time varsity mid-distance MVP. She also spent time on the cross country team and played flag football taking home team MVP for that squad. Above all, she was also honored as a Scholar-Athlete in the classroom.

On the club scene, Williams was rated No. 33 overall player in her region and No. 15 among midfielders. She was a National Select Game participant following honors claimed including First Team ECNL all-conference southwest and Second Team All-Southwest.

She will fit right in in Orange County and UC Irvine as a fan of trying new foods and spending as much time at the beach.

"A high energy midfielder who can make an impact on both sides of the ball," added head coach Scott Juniper. "Ivy is the kind of midfield player who won't let her opponents breathe on the ball and will make everyone around her better. Another fabulous team player in the 2024 class and a player with a big future in the game."
