IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine women's track & field team kicked off the 2024 Steve Scott Invitational Friday at Anteater Stadium.

Deandra Tyler opened the meet with a runner-up finish in the hammer where she posted a mark of 54.34 meters (178-3).
DeAna Davis took fourth at 52.63m (172-8).

Reyna Johnson was third overall and first among collegiate athletes in the long jump. Her best jump of the day came on her fifth attempt where she hit 6.06m (19-10.75).
Kailah McKenzie also notched a wind-aided personal-record 6.03m (19-9.5) to come in fourth, while
Jolie Robinson tied for seventh at 5.84m (19-2).

Laura Sangiacomo (35.00m/114-10) and
Chaselyn Amos (27.18m/89-2) both established season bests in the javelin to finish fourth and sixth, respectively.

On the track,
Malia Gay was third in the 800m Invitational with a time of 2:09.50.
Alexis Alexander (2:12.65),
Kaia Schmidt (2:12.68) and
Makena Castillo (2:14.07) were also among the top-10. Schmidt and Castillo both registered lifetime bests.

Sameen Andar led four Anteaters in the 5000-meter Invitational, crossing the finish line in 16:31.75 to come in fourth.

UCI closed out action in the invitational section of the mile.
Anna Vogtmann was sixth out of 37 with a personal-record 4:52.94.
Montgomery Allison added a top-20 showing (5:09.20).
