IRVINE, Calif. – Three UC Irvine men's basketball players earned All-Big West and specialty honors, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Justin Hohn earned his first career postseason award as he was named to the All-Big West Second Team. To round out the awards,
Andre Henry landed a spot on the honorable mention squad while boasting Best Defensive Player honors.
Crockrell II's first team selection is the second postseason honor of the guard's career at UC Irvine after earning a honorable mention nod last season. The fifth-year senior leads the Big West in total assists (203), assists per game (6.3), and is second in assist-turnover ratio (2.9) while ranking ninth, 12th, and 26th nationally in the respective categories.
Crockrell II has cemented his name in the UC Irvine record books, currently seventh all-time in career assists (381), third in assists in a season in 2023-24 (203), and is now fifth place in season assists in 2022-23 (178). Additionally, the guard is just the second player in Anteater history to dish out 200 assists in a season. Leading the offense for the Anteaters, UC Irvine holds a combined 31-9 record over two seasons when Crockrell II dishes out five or more assists in a game, including 16-6 this year. The Tacoma native has posted 11 double-figure scoring games and six double-figure assist efforts in 2023-24 to combine for four double-doubles. Crockrell II had his most impressive distribution performance at Cal State Bakersfield on Dec. 30, 2023, where he dished out 16 dimes, one away from tying the school record set by Raimonds Miglinieks on Feb. 2, 1995.

Crockrell II capped off the regular season with 243 points, 7.6 points per game, the most of any season in the guard's career.

Hohn leads the team in scoring with a 12.5 average, 401 total points, for his first career postseason honor. The redshirt senior posted a career-high 25 points in UC Irvine's upset of then No. 16/20 USC on 10-16 shooting from the floor, including three three-pointers, and has recorded double-digit points on 21 occasions this season including a 13-game streak from Nov. 22-Jan. 18. Hohn is climbing up the UCI career three-point leaderboard and is 19th with 128 makes from long range. The guard has been a floor general as he has led the Anteaters in scoring 12 times this year and leads the team with 26.9 minutes played per game.

Henry was awarded Best Defensive Player and honorable mention nods for his contributions this season. The senior is the first Anteater to be recognized as the league's Best Defensive Player since Brad Greene in 2020. Throughout the season, Henry was tasked with guarding the oppositions top scorer and has successfully shut them down by holding them to significantly lower scoring standards than they're used to seeing. The guard has stolen the ball 25 times this season and became the first Anteater to record five or more steals in a game since Evan Leonard did it in Feb. 2018.

Offensively, Henry ranks second on the team with 10.6 points per game with a team best .426 (46-108) shooting from three-point range. The senior has posted 17 double-figure scoring performances this year with 13 coming in Big West games.

UC Irvine earned the No. 1 seed at the 2024 Big West Championship for the second consecutive year behind their regular season title. The Anteaters will tip-off at 6 p.m. on Friday Mar. 15 in the semifinal with the opponent TBA.
