LONG BEACH, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team had four throwers in action on the first day of the season-opening Beach Opener Friday at Jack Rose Track.
 
Junior 
Liam Miksic, who is the reigning Big West men's javelin champion, led the Anteaters with a personal-record 65.85 meters (216-0), which ranks second in program history. Miksic threw for over 61 meters on all six of his attempts with his top mark coming in the fifth round. He was third overall and second among collegiate athletes.
 
Junior transfer 
Logan Peyton also made a statement in his UCI debut as he placed fourth overall at 63.40m (208-0). His mark is third among UC Irvine's all-time leaders (since 1986).
 
Senior 
Josh Farmer and junior 
Max Daniels added lifetime-bests in the javelin. Farmer was sixth in the standings at 56.15m (184-2), while Daniels was 13th with a toss of 48.81m (160-1).
