Notes
Scouting Hawai'i
Hawai'i is 1-2 to start the season where they have played all three matches on their home court. The Rainbow Wahine dropped to Memphis (L, 5-2) and Washington (L, 4-0). Much like the Anteaters, UH has not played a match in two weeks.
The Rainbow Wahine are led by Ana Vilcek who was named the first Big West Player of the Week award of the 2024 season with her high-powered victories in singles play against BYU and No. 19 North Carolina. Nikola Homolkova leads Hawai'i with a 2-1 singles record in the dual match season at the No. 3 spot.
Notes
- The Anteaters opened their season two weeks ago at No. 21 Southern California where they dropped 4-0
- Graduate student Jenna Schlatter and junior Kayla Meraz were named as the team captains for the season
- Schlatter and Meraz are holding down the No. 2 doubles spot in the UCI lineup and battled to a 6-3 loss to the Women of Troy
- The sister duo of Carolyna Fowler and Emily Fowler maintain their position at No. 1 doubles while Asha Gidwani and Amanda Perez stay at the No. 3 spot
- The singles lineup remained the same as last seasons with the only difference is Meraz taking over No. 2 for Alyssia Fossorier
- Hawai'i holds the 12-10 series advantage over UC Irvine
- The two squads met twice in 2023, once in the regular season and then again in the second round of the Big West Championship
