IRVINE, Calif.-- UC Irvine men's basketball inks guard Sir Marius Jones for the 2025-26 season.
Â
Jones, a two-time Sacramento Player of the Year, led Sacramento High School to back-to-back San Joaquin Section championship titles in 2021-22 and 2022-23. He was also named to both the All-Section First Team and All-City First Team in 2022-23 and was selected as the section finals MVP in 2021-22.
Â
"Sir Marius is a talented guard who has size and explosiveness that can help our program," stated head coach
Russell Turner. "He is a plus athlete who thrives in the open court, can make shots from the perimeter with efficiency, and create for himself and teammates off the dribble. The impact Sir Marius has had on winning shows with the success he has experienced during his high school career. Â We are excited to welcome Sir Marius and look forward to what he can accomplish during his time here."
Â
Through his junior year with the Dragons, Jones has scored 1,400 career points through three seasons. The guard ranks No. 1 overall in his position in Sacramento and sixth in NorCal Prep Hoops.
Â
Jones joins the back-to-back Big West regular season championship Anteater program that is predicted to finish atop the league standings in 2024-25.
